Year 1 were visited by 'A Chance to Shine'. They showed us how to incorporate our maths with PE. We played counting games by throwing a ball to a partner and counting in 1s, 2s, and 10s to see how far we could count in 1 minute.
In groups we made + and - number sentences by finding different numbers and symbols. It was very active and a great way to do maths.
In Science we have been learning about materials. We investigated four types of powders; salt, sugar, flour and cornflour. We used our senses to investigate the powders. We smelt them, we touched them and we observed them closely with a magnifying glass. In our groups we discussed the similarities and differences between the powders. Then we added some water to each of the powders and observed and discussed the changes. It was very messy but lots of fun!!!
