Happy New Year! Let's dive in 2019!!

During Spring Term 2019 our learning challenge is:

"What can we dig up about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age?"

During this topic we will be using various sources of evidence to answer questions and piece together information about life in the past. This will involve using a timeline to set out the order things may have happened. Our work will culminate in a visit to Stonehenge during March. (more details to follow)

Our questions include:

What jobs do archaeologists do and why are they so valuable in helping us find out about history?

How did the Early Britons make shelters?

Would Early Britons have visited a supermarket for thier food?

What can we find out about the Stone, Bronze and Irons Ages?

What do we know about the lifestyles of the Early Britons from the art they produced?

What do we know about the way they moved heavy items around?

How do we think Early Britons would have communicated?

Y3 visit to the Milner Centre for Evolution at the University of Bath

Friday 21st September 2018

Maple Class and Walnut Class were honoured to participate in the activities arranged by the University of Bath to celebrate the opening of the Milner Centre for evolution last Friday. The centre was opened by Dr. Jonathan Milner who provided the £5.6million needed to create this centre for scientific study.

The children were allowed to use the equipment in the laboratories and to meet some of the species housed there. We were hosted by students from the university and they were very happy to provide answers to our never ending stream of questions.
