At Bowerhill Primary School, we offer lots of first-hand experiences for pupils, from Reception right through to Year 6, with visits and visitors supporting work across the curriculum in all year groups. These are placed strategically in the school year to best support the learning outcomes for our children. We aim to provide a mixture of trips and visitors to school as well as immersive enrichment days. We aim to keep costs as low as possible for parents and carers and this is a consideration when is comes to planning the trips and the payment plans. We are absolutely committed to ensuring no child does not have access to enriching experiences due to socio-economic factors.

Children in Years 4 and 6 also have residential visits.

The Year 4 residential course is based at Braeside Education Centre, based in Devizes. This is a three day (two-night) residential course that will help to prepare the children for the longer Plas Pencelli trip in Year 6. The children learn team building skills as well as having a chance to push themselves with high ropes or the leap of faith amongst other activities. Plas Pencelli is an outdoor education centre based in the Brecon Beacons. This residential course builds on the skills learned during the visit in Year 4. The children learn an enormous amount, not just about adventurous activities such as caving, climbing, abseiling, and canoeing, but also about themselves as a person and about working as part of a team.
